Status: Never landmarked or heard. Currently it’s owned by Penn Central Company. There is a Metro North budget line to build a new station on the other side of Hunts Point Avenue. No exact opening date, but it’s estimated to open by 2022.
Description from the Bronx Survey: Cass Gilbert, 1908. A picturesque Gothic “suburban” station placed over the former New York, New Haven, & Hartford Railroad trackage. Such charming details as peaked dormers set into the wide overhanging hipped roof remain, but the architectural integrity of this structure has been severely compromised by extensive alteration of the ground floor commercial space.
