First Presbyterian Church of Throg’s Neck

May 9, 2016 / Category: Bronx Survey / Posted by: Emilio Guerra

    First-Presbyterian-Church-of-Throg's-Neck01Location: 3049 East Tremont Avenue. Block: 5375, Lot: 5.

    Status: Never landmarked or heard.

Description from the Bronx Survey: C 1880. Commanding a conspicuous site above East Tremont Avenue, this brick and stone church has the banded arches that are characteristic of High Victorian Gothic architecture. The prominent bell tower displays a handsome profile, but its architectural integrity has been compromised by the addition of aluminum siding.
