Description from the Bronx Survey:
The farmhouse standing on the northeast corner of Hawkins Street and Paulis Place is another example of the blend of nineteenth-century architectural styles that is so prevalent in vernacular architecture. The essential design of the house is Italianate, evidenced by its square plan and overhanging bracketed eaves.
The dentils ornamenting the cornice and window lintels, however, are Greek Revival elements, as are the tiny openings compressed between brackets in the fascia board. Yet another example .of the Victorian eclectic taste are the jigsawed brackets on slender porch posts which add a picturesque touch to the handsome residence.
